Friday was the day to celebrate and honor the Babylonian deity Bel or Ba'al. A version of the Sumerian deity An perhaps later known as Anu. Some researchers have said Bel might have a version on Enlil or Enki.
This day was celebrated by giving offering to Lord Bel and by passing through the bon fires from youngest to oldest for health, longevity and prosperity.

We celebrated this day on Saturday the 2nd by offering up flowers and other things into a bon fire and by walking through a set of torches from youngest to oldest.

It was a small ritual but it was nicely done and the majority of us walked away with peace.

Thank you everyone who participated, and a big thank you to Phoenix & Shamosh for writing the ritual.
